ClassView Firewall Requirements

For standards-based video conferencing using ClassView desktop & browser based communication and ClassView Room systems.

Firewall CV Novermber 25

Firewall Information v2.0 – October 2024

For standards-based video conferencing using ClassView desktop & browser based communication and ClassView Room systems.

Application:    ClassView Desktop and Room-Based Clients
Destination:   *classview.com & *vidyoplatform.io
TCP Ports:       443, 17990, 17992
UDP Ports:      50000 to 65535, 443
  • We recommend opening all traffic outbound to the destination domains to avoid any issues in the future if IP ranges are changed/extended.
  • Media ports are negotiated between the endpoint and the ClassView Cloud server.
  • For ClassView Room systems, if the ports listed above are not allowed, the endpoint will try falling back to ClassView Proxy using only 443 (with reduced resolution
  • and frame rate).
  • Some firewalls may mis-classify the media traffic and apply a UDP default timeout. In these cases, calls will always drop at exactly the same time. To avoid call
  • timeouts, change the default (0:02:00 – 2 minutes) to a time that is longer than the longest potential call (generally 4 hours+).
  • The ClassView browser client uses Web Sockets to maintain communication between the user’s web browser and the call routing pool, so if you are blocking this
  • type of traffic, please allow it through to the domains specified in the table above.
